Adaptogens. Elixirs. Superfoods.

These three words are staples at DEFINE foods, as we are constantly seeking to provide meals and drinks with elevated health benefits that make you feel beautiful from the inside out.

It was with that goal in mind that our DEFINE foods Bar was created. Now, we’re able to make adaptogen elixirs, superfood lattes, and plant-powered shakes more accessible to you! And of course, it’s very easy to order a charcoal latte with a collagen enhancement, but if you’re like us, you might be wondering exactly what all of these super ingredients really do for you.

What are the specifics of say, Pearl Powder? Is Ashwagandha, or Pine Pollen better for low energy? How can I naturally lower my stress levels? And what exactly makes a food “super?”

These are common questions and we’ve got the answers. But first, we wanted to give you a little introduction to some of our offered enhancements that you may or may not be familiar with.


Enhancers 101


Ashwagandha - This herb is sometimes referred to as "Indian Ginseng." For centuries, it has been regarded for it’s full spectrum of healing properties including a toned immune system, an increase in strength, and a calmer mind + body + spirit. It has also been shown to reduce the effects of mental, emotional, and physical stress.

Cordyceps - This is one of the many “healing mushrooms.” It’s benefits target our “yang” or masculine, energetic side. Regular use of cordyceps may support oxygenation of the body, cognition power, athletic endurance, sexual energy, increased muscle tone, and a healthy immune system.

He shou wu - This herb is the dried portion of a plant known as Fo-Ti. It has been long revered as a superior blood and longevity tonic. The several benefits that come with regular consumption can include: nourished blood, hair, and skin, and a healthy nervous and sexual system. Not to mention, it can help lower cholesterol, improve stamina, promote red blood cells, and enhance immune function and antioxidant activity.

Pearl - This powder is literally crushed pearls and have been used in traditional Chinese medicine to promote healthy skin for centuries. It’s an excellent source of minerals including calcium, zinc, iron, selenium, and amino acids. Pearl has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help to support the body's natural collagen production, promote even and clear skin, strengthen your bones, support the nervous system, and help with healthy sleep cycles.

Pine pollen - Pine Pollen is reputed to be a potent aphrodisiac that can offer hormonal support.
